Youth Concert Series
Designed for the purpose of furthering the musical talents
of members' students by presenting them in public concerts,
the Youth Concert Series seeks to showcase the most
accomplished young musicians in their classification.
Auditions are held in March.
Registrations are due in February.
Youth Honor Recital winners will perform two solo pieces
in a program the following fall. Youth concert winners will present a
15 to 20 minute program of solo repertoire the following year.
Awards will be given upon completion of the concert or recital.
All repertoire must be memorized.
Piano and String Requirements
Class B Grades 5 - 9 Intermediate Level
Three pieces required from three of the following categories: Baroque, Classical, Romantic/Neo-Romantic, Impressionistic, Contemporary.
Class A Grades 5-11 Advanced Level
Three pieces required from the above categories.
Special Class A Previous Class A Winners
Four pieces required from the above categories.
Voice Requirements
Three pieces required from each of the following:
1. An Ayre or song-like aria before 1800
2. Romantic/Neo-Romantic 1800-1930
3. Contemporary 1930 to Present
Guitar Requirements will be sent upon request.
